Mzansi Magic's famous soapie Isibaya's could be numbered after reports this week claimed that the soapie is about to face the boot for a number of reasons. M-Net's PR team has refused confirm or deny the reports.
After nearly seven years on our television screens, Mzansi Magic's Isibaya could be coming to an end very soon – that's if you believe the latest chatter from the rumour mill.
Reports in many of this week's local tabloids have suggested that the popular soapie might be seeing its final days due to a number of different factors and fans of the show can't stomach the news – especially if it turns out to be true.
Isibaya is set to be replaced by a new production called Diepsloot. According to a report, Isibaya was canned after the show failed to pull in the ratings that it did before. The show did not make the top 10 enough times to be renewed.
The cast has also seen some dramatic changes over the past few months. Although big stars such as Enhle Mbali have joined the roster, other big names, such as those belonging to Menzi Ngubane, Nomzamo Mbatha and most recently Siyabonga Thwala have all said their goodbyes to the Bhubesini faithful.
Isibaya is a show that is loved by many in South Africa and is set against the backdrop of the dangerous taxi industry. The show had a decent run over the years and had interesting storylines that highlighted the reality of many South Africans.
